Pan Mee, Sate and Dessert!

Had a good 'makan' experience the other day, looking out for good food throughout the whole day..

You need:

1. An extra cameraman/woman..

2. GPS..

3. Transport..

4. A strong desire to search for that yummy place.. (it took some instincts to get to that Restaurant Malaysia @Kajang)..

5. A good appetite! :D

Started off with some good Pan Mee (in Cantonese), Mi Hun Kueh (in Hokkien) and.. er.. I don't know what's it called in English, presume it to be Flour Noodles? LoL.. correct me if I'm wrong..

nov00016

The normal Pan Mee..

nov00015

The Singaporean Laksa Pan Mee.. This was Yummy!!

Location: Golden Egg Noodle @ Puchong

Next destination was Putrajaya... Oh by the way, you can find very good seafood dinner at Purajaya's Seafood Restaurant inside the Botanical Gardens.. Secluded I know but it's something worth the money..

This I had the other night, (not on the same day as the eating spree meant for this post but like..since I mentioned it now, let's see what you can get there):

1

Peanut for starters? While we wait for the next meal!

2

This is the 4 season meal you can get at most Chinese Restaurants as appetizers.. Normally served during Chinese Wedding and Birthday Dinners..

5

7

Shark's fin!

8

fried ChicKEN..

9

Fish... still wondering whether it is caught in that same lake surrounding the restaurant since it was so fresh haha!

10

The herbal prawns.. something different from the normal butter prawns that one would order..

11

Vege with mushrooms..

12

Fried rice.. at this point.. I couldn't breathe anymore.. too full.. but the food was just as good, so it was so hard resisting it..

4

6

Dessert..umm..

14

17

blending in with the environment, you can even see spider webs! The management said they won't clean it since it relives the authentic rainforest mode, sorta like to spark up that ambience... -.-"

18

This is the view at night... hmmm~ picturesque isn't it?

19 20

Yup this is where you get the yummiest seafood around Putrajaya..

(okok back to our story....)

Sate for tea break? Why not huh... LoL.. My GPS has only this Sate Kajang Restaurant coordinate which I was pretty sure it won't be as good as the one found at Restaurant Malaysia. So with a little bit of instincts, we managed to find the place.... It was a little salty that day but on any other day it tastes superb.. yup.. tried it before months back..

nov00041

The satay place..

nov00042

The side dish and the peanut sauce..

nov00048

The satay.... Chicken, Beef and Lamb.. The Lamb is gUd! What a way to celebrate Thanksgiving eh.. A replacement for turkey.. LoL..

nov00044

I remember having loads of this back in Phuket *sobs*

nov00046

Yup this will be the first picture of me aside from the dishes that you will find in this blog.. haha...

nov00061

And phew... finally.. dessert @ Sri Melaka Restaurant.. This is known as the Sago Gula Melaka delicacy.. some Nyonya thang... A must try for the sweet tooth..

Taiwanese @ Fong Lye Sri Hartamas

Hey peeps.. It's been a while since I last updated this site.. Apologize for the wait! Have loads to update here! Let's start with a Taiwanese restaurant in Hartamas called Fong Lye.. A lil' pricey for lunch but the meals were quite delicious.

nov00031

The prawns were super huge despite the image which made it seem as if it was a small dish..

nov00029

some sizzling beef with vege.. this was so-so

nov00030

The ma po taufu or something like that.. loads of tau chu sauce, found in most hokkien dishes..

Not a bad place to recommend, with a nice, cosy ambience, heard there's one branch of it at MidVally as well if you don't mind splurging a little.. hehe..

Going Lala @ Lala Chong Ara Damansara

Lala is a kind of shell-based seafood you can get at any typical chinese seafood restaurant in Malaysia. Some people like it, others don't. But the delicacies served that night wasn't on lala. The place itself is called Lala Chong. You know sometimes when you walk the streets in KL dressed up all spoofy and accessorised in a non trendy way, people also address you as 'Lala' or sometimes we often just say a person is 'lala' because he or she is weird in some ways. Ok, enough bout the term now.. Let's look at what they served that night. YUMS. It's almost dinner time and I'm looking back at the pictures drooling~

nov1st00001

Me likey the coconut drink served. It was not too young nor too old and it's sweet unlike some other chinese restaurants.

nov1st00003

This is the Paku Vege dish. It is quite yummy too. Opt for this instead of Kangkung if you like some exotic vege dish.

nov1st00004

Deep fried calamari with century egg.

nov1st00006

The 'Man Tou' or bun is slightly too oily for my liking but the inside tastes oh so good.

nov1st00008

The fish in 'tau chu' sauce. A little too much taste. hmm.. The chef was rather generous with the spices that night.

nov1st00009

nov1st00010

The crab dish. The gravy for this is to go with the deep fried bun shown earlier. Definitely very fresh!

nov1st00015

Oh to top it all, Beer.. Afterall, good life, good food should also end with good drinks. :) Cheers people!

Hock Kee @ Port Dickson (PD)

Hock Kee is Hokkien for Lucky.. and indeed we were lucky enough to know of this place in PD. When one is hungry, everything seems bleak. Good food served deserves 2 thumbs up, definitely!

They serve really good dry noodles, curry noodles, prawn noodles and asam laksa..umm..speaking of it again makes my mouth water hehe..

The superb dry noodles there...

It's definitely a must-try when you're there (at PD of course!) hehe! Set your GPS to Oceanic Mall and you should be able to find this little place alongside the side entrance.. :D til the next makan post! cheers.
